Rachel’s Story
Ever since I was a small child, magic whispered in my ears. At the time it felt natural to fill old shoes boxes with dirt, moss and lichen covered sticks to make gardens for the fairies and other little creatures. There was never any doubt that I was surrounded by so much more than the ‘seen world’. As I moved into my tween years, when I was alone, sauntering through the understory of the towering jarrah trees that were the playground I grew up in, a voice would visit me. As clear as a bell whispering not so quietly in my ear. I thought I was going mad. I scoured the library and local book shop looking for answers, looking for books to help me understand. I was taken down a path littered with stories of schizophrenia and multi-personality disorders. I still have that collection of books bound with a shiny ribbon that I hoped would serve as a full-stop. Closing that chapter and putting the voices to bed.
Years later I have finally come full circle. Without really understanding it, my journey since has seen me searching and studying every energy medicine and spiritual modality I could find; looking for answers. It has been a long and sometimes challenging process but I have finally come to not fear that voice. And while I no longer hear those messages in an audible voice that talks to me, the messages still come. Now they arrive through feelings and words that float from me without any thought on my behalf. I believe it is still one and the same.
I have searched without knowing what I was searching for, travelled far and wide only to discover all I was looking for was simply an understanding of what already resided inside me; inside all of us. The divine.
I have travelled extensively for the last 23 years to study face- to- face with a range of teachers and modalities including: Pranic healing, Reiki, Huna massage and philosophy, aura soma, tarot, Australian bush flower essences, Indigenous healing practices, Robert Simms crystal healing, Byron Katie’s ‘The work’, physic and intuition development, Chakra healing, Shamanic practice and ITA. Each one has added a layer of knowledge and understanding to my journey. Through these studies, I learned that the voice I had heard as a child was not a sign of madness, but rather a connection to the spiritual realm. A doorway to understanding and healing.
My journey is far from over. There is still much to learn and explore, but I am no longer searching for answers outside of myself. I have come to understand that the divine resides within each and every one of us, waiting to be awakened and embraced. And through this work, I am guided to help others discover the magic that lies within them, just as it whispered in my ears all those years ago.
In the Good paddock
The Aussie saying "in the good paddock" is a colloquial expression that refers to someone or something being in a favourable or advantageous situation. It draws its inspiration from the image of a well-maintained paddock, where the grass is lush, animals are healthy, and everything thrives.
In a broader sense, this saying implies that when someone or something is "in the good paddock," they are in a state of abundance, prosperity, and overall well-being. It suggests that they are in a favourable environment that supports their growth and success.
In the context of a healing practice, being "in the good paddock" can be seen as a metaphor for achieving optimal well-being. It implies that an individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects are in a state of balance and harmony. Just as a well-maintained paddock ensures the health and vitality of its inhabitants, being "in the good paddock" suggests that an individual is thriving and flourishing in all aspects of their life.
